You can put the HDD mount in the cooling chambers or in the pedestal. You could probably modify the mount easily enough to mount it in the MB chamber, but you could run into clearance issues with the MB itself (and certainly anything attached to it). We were working on a vertical HDD mount for the MB chamber. It's somewhere in my bag of tricks - I'll have to see if I can find once I get all this S5 silliness done
Thanks for this information it is as much help as you can give me I am sure because it will depend on the cards you have plugged into your M/B so I will have to wait until I get home and check this in person..
The vertical mount is something I had not thought of either so I will have to look at this also if the horizontal will not work...
thank you for your prompt answer... I will be sure and post back here when I know for sure....

I will already have the tallest on recorded with the 2 pedestals and 150mm top. But if I have to I will add the 3rd pedestal and set the bar too high for anyone else!!!!
That is awesome! I didn't see it in the Insanity log but, do you have the SD caster platform for the TX10? Heck, you might even want a 4th pedestal. Only problem with that is your plumbing runs will be super extremely long.

I just spent $1150 on my Areca raid card for my 3770K build. I would buy your 680's but, I'm saving up for a 24 port Areca card for my upcoming Haswell extreme build. The card will run me $1400 with 4GB cache and battery backup unit addons.

My 3770K build has 16 Samsung 840 Pro SSD's, x2 512GB, and 14 256GB. I'm going with x1 512GB (Non-raid) for boot drive and x1 512GB, + x14 256GB in raid 0. Will be used for storage/server. I will be using the 16 port Areca card for this.
The Haswell Extreme build will house the 24 port Areca card. I haven't decided yet but, I'm thinking x1 1TB Samsung EVO for boot (Non-raid) and x23 1TB Samsung EVO's in raid 1, 5, or 0 for server.
I still need to review CPAChris's build log and follow his instuctions for waterblocking the cards.
NICE set-up with the raid cards and drives used. I thought I was insane in my set ups. I have too much data to use SSD's until the price drops about 50%. but oh that would be nice to have... Now you got me thinking and need to start saving..
I have the below cards I am going to use in my PC, Server and Back-up server. PC will have 8 X 120 GB SSD's and I will use the 9271 with the SSD Accelerator. not 100% sure about the other cards except for the 16i HBA will go into the storage server for use with all the old drives I have to make a storage space as a back up for my server. Will have another card in it to run drives raid 5 for another back-up and I will also have remove able drive on the HBA for offsite storage.
the server will have 1 or 2 cards in it with all the drives set up as raid 0 or 5. I know I have 8 600gb 10,000 rpm raptors that will have movies on it. and the rest will be in raid 5 I think.. maybe 50..

LOL! Best work in the nude, right on! My hat goes off to those folks that make the video logs. Getting the right camera angles, focus the camera in and out, and narrating while trying to keep everything within the time constraints. Definitely not for me, I just like to watch and subscribe. Hey man, if you haven't already, check the S3 Mercury build log on Youtube done by Ronsanut. He's doing some incredible stuff with his S3.
