I'm helping a friend with their wireless situation. They bought a TP-LINK TL-WN722N adapter a month or so ago and it suddenly stopped working. The little light on the inside would not turn on and no matter what USB port they put the device in, nothing helped. My friend went to the store and bought the same adapter and after a few days similar problems started to occur. My friend even tried it on a laptop and the laptop BSoD.

Coincidence? Bad batch? Or is there something going on elsewhere? The other USB devices are working fine and the fact that moving the adapter to a new machine still had problems does not help.

Finally, what should my friend try next? While I would suggest a PCI-e card, my friend does not want to open up their computer.
