If you don't like Origin that's fine, but plenty don't mind it. I even see people complaining about Origin because of the recent Humblebundle. What can you possibly complain about with what they are doing?

I've never used steam. I have Origin simply because I bought BF3 (which I bought at Target). I have Uplay because I got FarCry3 free with my PSU. While I have made downloadable purchases on Origin, I prefer to have a disc that I can hold and say its mine. I'm not a fan of the DRM at all. I don't mind the shopping part, they do have good deals, but I don't feel like I own the games, more like renting them.

Nope
Games like Dead Space 3, the save file will have to match the origin account/ID. Can't use save files from the internet on your account, maybe if you do some hacking but don't think even that is possible.

I agree. And I'm not a fan of EA at all and the impact they have on the games they publish.

However, Steam is terrible in terms of customer support IMO. You can't contact them by phone at all, and if you want to send an EMAIL, you actually have to make a separate "Support" account just to do that.

To me, Origin is doing what ALL digital distribution services should do (assuming this is legit), which is allow customers the chance to return a product if they really don't like it. Amazon allows it for Kindle books and I think movies as well to some extent.

This policy makes me much more likely to buy games from Origin also, because there isn't the risk of having spent 60 dollars on something that turns out to be junk and then not being able to do anything about it.

If we're not going to get free demos (what happened to those anyway?), this is probably the next best thing.

And I will probably be buying most of my future new-release titles on Origin instead of Steam because of this policy.

I don't think people see the difference between steam and origin. I may be mistaken here, and I'm sure someone will correct me. But steam is a middle man. Most if not all of the games, good or bad on steam are placed there to sell. Steam doesn't develop their own games. Where origin is a EA exclusive seller for their own games. As I said correct me if I'm wrong here.

Valve owns Steam which yes make their own games which use Steam. Also Origin has games on it that EA never produced such as Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry, etc.

I love this crap. This is a FACT. Most people simply can not talk to customer service. If you know what you are doing, you will get what you deserve. The only way that you don't get what you paid for is if you don't know what you are doing. I have never had a bad customer service experience. I've had hiccups on the path to getting something working, but the end result is always the same. Except for one time with PNY. Screw them.

You sir have been blessed, cautious and lucky. My luck hadn't held out so well despite all the research I've done before buying. Though the only pc related problems that weren't easily resolved was when my asus motherboard went bad after 2 years. After a few hours of talking to someone who didn't understand English we finally confirmed that the bored was the problem only after going through his long checklist that he refused to forgo despite me already trying most of those steps. The straw that broke me was when they informed me that the motherboard replacement was out of stock after going through all that trouble.
