I spent my night tonight playing with VirtualBox. Using it over a year but only now realized the things I can do with it. I currently have Linux Mint, Pfsense, FreeNas VM's all running and playing nicely with each other. Pfsense because i didn't understand how to get the nas and mint to talk to each other without a router of some kind. After a fair amount of hair pulling and swearing I have got a good grip on FreeNas, been testing myself with it a bit and got it pretty well I think. I don't know what to bother with for Pfsense as it was only a means to an end. Have no intentions of ever using a custom built router. The nas though is a thing I intend to do.

Anything else I could / should try doing? I'm quite pleased with the results of tonight and learned a great deal.

*EDIT* Now I found the bridged networking mode for the VM so it's viewable from my host now. Loving this.
