Will the 650 watt xfx work for the 7970

It says I need 2x 8 PCI-E pin for the HIS 7970 but I am using this power supply

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb9

On newegg it says it comes with 2x 6 pin PCI-E and 2x 6+2 pin PCI-E so I am guessing the 6+2 pin is a 8 pin?

Yes the 6+2 is a 8pin. That PSU will be fine.
