The majority of us get that and know that... I don't think his intent was to provide a proxy to meet exact specifications, lol... just a rough idea of how the fanboy wallet bait works... I think that of the handful of people that have "bought" these (most probably only got samples to test), 90% of them just wanted to bench it to see how it would perform compared to it's lower binned brothers. It seems pretty plausible that no sound-minded computer enthusiast would buy one of these at the price they are and have been selling them at...
It just annoys me personally that so many people seem to feel obligated to dispense trolling, flame-bait, and hate on a brand that's trying to rebuild itself. As someone else said elsewhere in the forums.. there are days I would love to see Intel hold a market monopoly so those of you that obviously don't understand how competitive markets are crucial to having efficient and healthy economies would find out just how wrong you are when Intel jack up their prices 200-300% over a few generations and straight up rape your wallets, all the while probably reducing tick-tock to a bi-annual cycle and halving the performance gains. That would mean 2 years for each generation and 4 years between die changes... with little emphasis on true performance gains. No competition means no incentive to advance what you already have... that's why you should all want AMD to get it right and be competitive again.
In the mean time, yes, Intel is still superior, we get it. Yes, AMD has done some things that still made no sense.. the FX-9xxx CPUs being a perfect example. Yes, most AMD owners, like myself, are well aware that Intel generally blows AMD away... but not at the price paid... In all honesty, the vast majority of them bought AMD because it's what they could afford. And it gets annoying when the more elitist and condescending owners, those whom I'll never name-drop, but most of us have a list in our heads already, those amongst the ranks of the unofficial Intel Fanboy Politburo Propaganda and Brainwashing Bureau, don't think to consider that not everyone has the silver spoon of privilege at their disposal, not everyone has the fat salary you might, or some of us just choose to be more financially responsible than finding excuses to blow the money when we can't afford it.Edited by SpacemanSpliff - 8/21/13 at 12:50am
