The 8350 is actually a downgrade in floating point performance in certain floating point heavy software. When AMD doesn't even offer an upgrade to their older releases but instead uses marketing (do you see a pattern here?) to bridge the gap, it does rankle a few people who have supported them in the past but who don't see much reason to now.
I know what you mean here, and I admit that you are not saying anything based on performance that isn't true. I have had a Phenom II myself since 2009, and I've also done my own testing on an FX-6100 and FX-8350. I've personally seen the drastic performance difference between 2 full modules, and 1 core each in 4 modules (both resulting in quad core operation). Oh man the Cinebench scores were especially sad...
My only point is, I don't think it's right to say that the modules don't have 2 "real cores" just because it's a totally different design than what we all have seen before, and the lack of performance doesn't help justify that point of view either.

This forum has the biggest collection of the "most power you can fit in your budget" fanboys. That means it will be either Intel or AMD or Nvidia. They aren't "Intel fanboys and AMD haters". I don't know why it is so hard for you to see that the only things that have been posted that you regard as bashing are just pure facts. Nothing more, nothing less. Its a bit ignorant in my opinion.
I don't want to jump right in the middle of the debate here, but I just gotta say, there are most definitely
fanboys and haters around here. Yes, there are many of the power/budget guys, but this isn't something you can generalize when speaking of this community.Edited by metal_gunjee - 8/20/13 at 10:40am
