Best USB HUB for block erupter Icarus miner

Thread Starter
Hi what USB hub with 10 ports are you guys using for the block erupters?
I have using iCan 10 port hub http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=48_794_259&item_id=048205

But I can't use more than 7 USB miners on it - I guess the power supply is not strong enough.

Which ones are you guys using when you put 10 miners on one hub (or at least 9 miners)

thanks!

You didn't mention if you're using a Raspberry Pi or desktop, so I'll just inform you on both.

For a Raspberry Pi, the hubs can't be USB 3.0 and after 20 minutes of searching this is the best hub I could find: Amazon Link

If you had two of those plugged into a Pi you'd have enough for 10 miners + keyboard and mouse, not sure about a USB fan though.

However if you're using a PC for this, a USB 3.0 hub will work with it. Here's the hub I'd recommend for desktop PC use: Amazon Link

It's the 9 +1 charging USB hub. This one will only support 9 safely though. It will support ten, but only for a short amount of time until they start heating up and getting hardware errors. Because of this I'd recommend to use the charging port for a USB fan such as this one: Amazon Link

With that fan it'll keep temperatures down meaning you won't get as many hardware errors and there is a much lower chance of hardware failure that way.
