GT 640 mobo problems

Thread Starter
I recently bought my brother a GT 640 card to put into a AMD rig. I read that you could mix AMD mobo and Nvidia GPUs and nothing would be wrong. The problem is that when the card is inserted into the PCI slot I get zero video out put whether I put it on the mobo connector or graphics card connector. I took the card out and the system booted up without a problem. When the card was in the computer was flashing two single blink yellow lights then flickered for 2-3 seconds and repeated.

The system is as follows:

AMD A8-3850 Llano 2.9ghz

ASrock A75m FM1

Corsair 500W 80 bronze

Any help is appreciated, Id really like to get my brother a suitable gaming computer up and running.

Somethings I have tried,

1. I have verified the mobo and APU do in fact work by removing the card and watching it boot properly.

2. The GT 640 works in my second rig without a Onboard video device

You may have to disable the onboard/onchip iGPU in BIOS of the motherboard.
