Help! FX-8320 Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3

Thread Starter
Hello all, I need help, I have 32GB 1600MHz of corsair ram and a 990fxa-ud3 I'm running windows 7 pro x64 and I can't for the life of me understand nor troubleshoot why only half of my ram is usable in windows. I've gone into the BIOS and seen that all the ram is recognized and with cpu-z I see all 32GB but, the ram runs in single channel even though all four slots have the same stick of ram 4x8GB... WTH gunner.gif is it my cpu's memory controller? mobo? I've contacted Gigabyte and they told me the mb was fine if all the ram was detected...

Is that a "Matched set" of 4 x 8gig sticks, or did you buy them separately?

You might need to swap the pair so one set of 2x8GB run in channel 1 and other set runs in channel 2 ?

Hello again all, just wanted to post my solution. I just wanted to thank those that responded. The memory controller in the cpu was faulty so I RMA'd the 8320 and now all 32gb's of ram work and are running in dual channel. nerdsmiley.png
