Gigabyte 970a UD3 and Phenom II x4 970 BE - Page 3

yes your changing the right one. Thats strange it doesn't change once you go to windows though. Whats weirder is when you turn it up more it crashes even though its not showing a change in windows. You got me stumped there, it should be changing you are doing it right. Ill think about it and get back to you lol.. Maybe try talking to some phenom specialists, this would be a good club for you to join aswell:

About the cooler, the dark rock pro 2 is like impossible to find here its german made same with the alpenfohn k2. They are probably the best of them too but are too hard to find. The current #1 on this side of the world is the thermalright silver arrow SB-E extreme. Mostly because it comes with the best fans. If your going for looks the phanteks ph-tc14pe comes in multiple colors and is a better heatsink just not as good fans as the silver arrow. The noctua is old-school and still very good, its the smallest of the bunch and fits more cases but for most it does not match and is ugly tongue.gif.

Over-all they are all great coolers you would be happy with any of them and they all are only slightly different temperature-wise from eachother.

silver arrow extreme (best by a slim margin due to fans):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thermalright-Silver-Arrow-SB-E-Extreme-/170963627257?pt=US_CPU_Fans_Heatsinks&hash=item27ce39ecf9
Phanteks multiple color choices:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=phanteks+ph+tc14pe&N=-1&isNodeId=1
or for the cheapest of the 3 and still just as good really if you dont mind the color:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018
or for the same noctua you can get one with PWM fans:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608024
but the pwm fans dont have as good of a rating, they tend to just work quieter when running same speed, but the pwm will perform slightly better since it reaches higher rpm still good choice either way.

As I mentioned all of them are great coolers if you got a color scheme going on id recommend the phanteks, if you want the highest performance one go for the silver arrow, if you want the quietest/smallest and dont mind tan then noctua is the cheapest and would work great.

actually i just realized the phanteks are all cheaper then the noctua now.. so really thats the best bang for buck there. plus theres one open box plain white on sale for $70:

I also found this:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/21235/ex-wat-270/XSPC_Raystorm_750_EX240_Extreme_Universal_CPU_Water_Cooling_Kit_New_Rev_4_Pump_Included_w_Free_Dead-Water.html

if you can afford it thats a good brand and kit that would work great. Comes with everything you need. Not the best full blown custom but still would work great.
