Recommend Good Microphone for Gaming VOIP

Hello everyone, I'm currently looking into buying a microphone for my gaming voip needs. Recently had bought the Razer Kraken PRO since I wanted comfort in a pair of headphones (hint: they did not disappoint) and thought the built-in mic would serve my voip needs. I was sorely mistaken. It is probably the worst mic I've ever used, hardly picking up my voice at all and led to my having to tweak Windows audio settings to raise the decibel sensitivity (which then led to tons of interference).

So, I would still love to use the Kraken headphones, so I decided I'd buy the non-Pro version that has no chappy built-in. This leads to the point of my post, I know little to nothing about microphones themselves, though I do know I'd want noise-cancellation since my neighbors sound like elephants above me and it'd surely pick that up otherwise.

So are there any good, noise-cancelling, perhaps small in size desktop microphones that have good clarity and sensitivity for clear gaming voip chat?

Thanks guys!

Thanks for the reply! Are these mics noise-cancelling if need be? My flat can be loud with Window AC and neighbors so I don't want that to be picked up in my recording or transmissions. I like the Snowball and may end up getting it, but before I do, is there anything of similar quality, but smaller in size?

Thanks!

AT2020 up for sale in the marketplace.
It's been there for a while, so you might be able to negotiate a lower price.

Looks cool, but I live in the US and also would prefer Amazon if I need to return it for any reason.

When I bought my Snowball it kind of seemed large and in the way at first but realized that thing will pick me up from where ever I am so I moved it out of the way and it's good. It is sensitive though so I had to spend quite a bit of time adjusting the settings in whatever programs I was using - Mumble, TeamSpeak and Ventrilo. It's pretty good now but it still picks up some things I don't want it to - but sounds a lot better than my old microphones and wasn't too expensive. Only an issue though if you don't use PTT, which I don't.

ModMic3.0.

Got one 2 days ago, it's beautifully clear, attached to my DT990 Pros like a gaming headset's mic, and cost me £40 (includes Inport VAT - it will be considerably cheaper for you in the US - I had to pay $16 for international shipping then a further £12.55 to customs, you have to pay $30 for the mic + $6 domestic)

Also, the 3.0 is the first modmic to have noise cancelling

No I'm not trolling, I'm not kidding. $3 will net you a mic that is more than adequate for VOIP.
