WiFi not working?

Alright guys, I can't figure this one out.

I have an MSI a75ia-e53 MB which I just updated to the latest drivers from the MSI website, ensured that the WiFi is enabled through the BIOS, and the extender is connected, however, there is no indication that the WiFi is connected or working. I cannot find any networks which is odd considering I am posting from a desktop in the same room as my gaming rig, and the desktop is connected to the network I'm searching for - along with other devices - am I missing a step here?

Yes. Windows 7. And, there is nothing in Device Manager about a network card or adapter. Everything was working perfectly up until two days ago when my SSD died.
