Go to NewEgg and look at the user reviews, for starters. I'm not saying all TLCs are going to be bad but, for not much more, one can get the Pros, which are MLC, which has a much longer, stable history. Also, actual use over a long period of time by actual users gives a better history to judge how reliable a drive is going to be instead of continuously applying tests to artificially age them.
Mostly, I'm suggesting waiting on SSDs with TLC, especially the new EVOs, for a while longer to see how they do over time. Until then, the 840 Pros are a safer bet for not all that much more.
Edit: I just took another look on NewEgg and most of the 840s that had dropped to four eggs are back up to five eggs.Edited by Lady Fitzgerald - 8/26/13 at 1:46am
