Whenever something faster comes out that's not priced over what I'm willing to spend(sorry Titan mad.gif)
the last few years it's been 2 460's
2 560 tis
2 680s
2 7970s(moved to backup rig currently)
2 780's, depending on the price and performance of the 9970's, it might go
2 9970s

I only upgrade when there is a need or if I find a deal that's too good to pass up.
I only upgrade when I can't play games on high, which is typically every 2 years or so.

8800GT 320mb
9800GT 512mb
7950 3gb

I used the 9800GT forever because I wasnt really gaming much aside from a little bit of Counterstrike Source. Ive got the 7950 now and thinking about picking up another sometime. If Im gaming I would just upgrade when needed to stay at high settings, If Im not gaming why bother?

It's not really in the choices, but if I can get a steal on it- I'm getting it. Had my original 5770 for like a year, then went to a 7870, and then to a 7970- sold that 7970 and all my previous cards and then I bought two used 7970's for my D'yer Mak'er rig.

So, when I feel like it?

I usually buy the second most powerful in the current line-up, wait a year and buy another for SLI and then do it all over again when after the generation I skipped is replaced.
