I would try to go with a more powerful card that 7770, infact I would go with no GPU at all to start, and just build it with integrated graphics, then get one of AMD's 9000 series cards when they release in about a month.

Personally I like OC but not the expense: performance ratio of most H2O systems expecially AIO's, I'd drop the $100 H100 for a $40 HSF and put the 55-60 gained towards a better GPU. Infact I wouldn't even build it with an upgrade GPU, just use stock HSF to make sure everything works for a weeks or 2, then see about your GPU, water/air cooling and lapping.

Having bought a GX 750 from a local computer store as an interim PSU (which went on for about 2 years). I can say they ain't half bad at all, maybe a tad flakey on voltage regulation, but honestly, It's nothing to worry about.

I'm currently using an X-Series 850 from Seasonic, which is absolute top quality, but I honestly can't say its any more reliable than the GX to the average user/gamer.

If you're tight on funds, a GX will do just fine imo.

Welcome to the forums. Like a few people have already said, your AMD 7770 is going to frustrate you if you are intent on playing recent games at high graphics settings. Its a good budget card but its not powerful enough for a solid performing rig.

I guess you already know but I'll repeat just in case you unsubscribed to the other thread. The Xpower deal, unfortunately wasn't a deal. They made a mistake and a pricing error on amazon's part caused the pricing of the mini-itx board to show up under the xpower page. They refunded everyone's money. Question is what board are you going to get now that this has happened?

If you're patient, you'll be fine. When you get a chance, put some decent money into a solid PSU first, then look at for a GPU. And hey, by then the AMD 9000's may be out, which will give you more options, and possibly lower prices.

Thread Starter
My motherboard purchase was cancelled by the seller High Tech Vendors on Amazon I am in search of a replacement. They blame Amazon for listing the motherboard incorrectly. I will have up to $180 to spend towards the new one since that is what was refunded. I usually buy from Amazon directly and never their third party vendors.

Amazon Purchases:
  • CM Storm Trooper $149.99 FS (price dropped $25 in 3 days, chat session with Amazon refunded $25 difference) *On hand
  • MSI Z87 XPOWER $157.77 + $27.38 SH (price mistake? thumb.gif) * Shipping now
  • i7 4770K $323 + $4.99 SH *Shipping now
  • ASUS HD7770-2GD5 $133.99 FS *Shipping now
  • Corsair Hydro H100i $94.99 FS *Shipping now
  • Samsung 840 2.5 SSD 120GB SATA III $89.99 FS *Shipping now
  • Windows 8 $88.90 FS *Shipping now
  • CM GX-650W 80 Plus Power Supply $44.99 FS *Shipping now
  • Total: $1115.99

I probably should have done a lot of things different but the motherboard was going to be $200 or less. So that is why my parts are a little cheaper. I wont be able to upgrade until January. So hopefully this might be ok until then.

Welcome to OCN!

Where are you currently? I hope you don't mind me asking and do not feel like you need to answer that question. Haha.
