maximizing i7 980x folding @ 4ghz

Thread Starter
Hi

I have an i7 980x @4ghz and 24gb ram 1866 with a 7970 to fold at the same time
What would suite the cpu best?
Would bigadv work through ubuntu 10.10 with vm and v7(win) core 17 folding?

Or would the cpu be too slow? In which case smp only...

Since currently my time per fold for both radeon 7970's and a i7 3930k on P8105 is 28:28 (112k ppd) on the sb-e @ 4.5ghz & (25:23mins)134k ppd without the two Gpuz .

Any help would be grand.

Officially, no that CPU is not supported for bigadv. Best suggestion is fold on it -smp , and the GPU at the same time.
