which internet for pc gaming?

so i live in san diego and plan on switching internet providers from cox to att u-verse and im wondering what internet speed should i get? i play games like battlefield 3/4 and league of legends and so on so good internet is a must. right now i have the 18mbps from cox would it be ok to go with 12mbps from att? i dont even download close to 7mbps

Although the higher speeds are great, you may want to look at your latency if you're having gaming issues. Here is a site for possibly reducing latency. I use to use cox when I was in San Diego, haven't heard much about att u-verse, you might want to check how close/far you are to an ISP main server

If I have to pick between the two, I'll stay with Cox. And I think ATT U-Verse is DSL, but I might be wrong.

im not having any gaming issues im just switching because its cheaper
