No SLI option and I have no idea why!!!!!!!!

Ok to keep it short simple and informative.
I7 3770
8GB 1600Mhz Ram
EVGA 660Ti 2GB
Gigabyte 660Ti OC 2GB
750w PSU
ECS Z77H2 A2X Deluxe Motherboard

SLI not showing as an option.
I have as follows:
checked all fittings - power cables, card mountings, sli cable - all ok and replaced sli cable also just in case
clean install of all NVidia drivers - including using driver sweeper to make sure no remnants remain.
updated bios.
rebooted comp x 2
re-seated cards into opposite slots.
checked each card in each slot separately - all ok
clean install of NVidia drivers after re-seating cards
clean install of windows 7 64bit home premium.
clear cmos

all in that order and still no joy. Both cards are present and working with no errors in device manager. Also both cards are recognised by NVidia control panel and also GPU Z
Can anyone help me with any further info on how to get this working because im at my wits end trying to get this to work.

I had the same issue not to long ago.. you might have to download "hyperSLI" and bypass it!

I was really hoping not to have to do that as it should work natively.
