4.6 or 4.5?

Hey guys, so just swapped out my old 3570k and 212 + for a D14 and new 3570k. Seems to be an amazing chip although stabilty testing is not over.

Currently I am testing 4.6ghz at 1.216 (Offsets, LLC 75% ) Temps seem to be peaking at 75c with 23c amb at 9pm Its been running less then 30 minutes so clearly not stable but the lack of a bsod and whea errors so far makes me think worst comes to worse I am 0.01-0.02v away from stabilty

Debating whether to stay here or knock it down back to 4.5ghz, as temps in games was hitting 57-60c max and I try to stay under 65c in games and I doubt this OC will be able to do that in BF and Crysis 3

You guys think after stability testing it properly I should go for 4.6 or 4.5. Maybe 4.6 in the winter?

Should I reflash my bios after adding a new CPU, I was at stock before I added it for safety reasons?

Meh, I don't think 100MHz is worth the extra voltage and heat output. I'd knock it back down to 4.5 for now. That's a pretty solid OC for a 3570k. As for the BIOS, I'm not entirely sure. I'll let someone with more experience address that question. I would say "why not?", but I don't want to give bad advice, sooo...yeah. =D

Good luck with overclocking that chip! Will the GPU be next?

Read the release notes with the bios updates, if it says anything about improved memory compatibility or anything with overclocking or might be an issue you thought was normal with the board.

Bios was/is the latest. Was just curious. Get home in an hour, if it failed or went above 80c ill tone it down
