PC gaming now is almost perfect but some Console Exclusives are interesting too however consoles are far from perfect

Wouldn't agree with that, consoles have always been great for the 'they just work' factor. I guess it depends on your definition of perfect.

Who is bashing PCs? This is OCN. You're not going to find people like that here. The only demographic I see are PC gamers who aren't happy with the console bashing going on...

+1 on using the xbox pad for most if not all of my PC gaming.

Only 30 percent of steam users even have 1080p.It still isn't the norm.

.

i can argue with that all day

consoles games burned/broke so many hardware units it's actually a joke starting from PS2 era to this day

while PC games almost never broke the hardware to the ( no return point ) they just crash the system and all you need is a OS format ( usually you need a restart )

It's literally the most common resolution on steam though, isn't it? Isn't that what norm means?

Usually "norm" is taken to mean the "average" and in that context no, 1080 is not the "norm" tongue.gif

Instead of buying the PS4 when it is released, I might as well invest in a 2nd Titan.

720p had to be something of the past in the new generation.

If the news is true, I think we will be seeing more converts from console to PC gamers in the new generation.

Depends what your priorities are. I would choose more great gaming experiences over more pixels anyday.

Halo 4 was 720p, and it was one of the most beautiful games of this generation IMO.

For me, great art direction, design, story, characters, and gameplay will always beat moar pixels.

Except the 3DS, the jaggies on that machine are just criminal.

(Not to mention that a titan is twice the cost of a next gen console).

True to an extent, but drivers can be a pain. They can even kill gpus as we saw recently. PC gaming is less 'just turn on and play'. That is a blessing and a curse.

That really isn't the point though. For a brand spanking new, supposedly hardcore machine not to play a blockbuster in 1080p is a disappointment for many, including myself.

What I don't understand is, why don't they make adaptative graphics settings? Like, SD telly? Crank the details and output 640x480! 720p? High details, at said resolution. 1080p? Lower them a bit, up the resolution.

Image crispness is usually preferred to high resolution grass shading and true-to-life glass reflections.

I agree but somethings need to go forward even more. Art direction, design, story etc are extremely important but why can't this be done on a 1080p level is still not acceptable.

7 years after PS3 and we still game at 720p?

(assuming the news are true though. Who knows maybe BF4 is 1080p)

Yes but this is 2013.

We are not in the Nes, PS1 or PS2 era. Things need to evolve.

If we were all set with Nes graphics than there is really no need for development.
