Sabertooth 990FX Audio Vs Creative Sound Blaster ZxR?

Hey guys I am planning to get a new audio card for gaming and music production, but a lot of people say that on-board audio from FX990 is more than enough. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!

the onboard sound is plenty good on my z77 and 990 chipsets,,,,i use the optical cord to my receiver for movies,,,good 7.1,,,,i don't see any reason to buy a sound card,,

I think it would different if you had all the speakers plugged into the back of the motherboard,,,,i don't think onboard audio will have a lot of wattage,,,,but if your just using headphones or optical,,,not needed

The 990FX internal sound is pretty robust, but like Trailer Park Boy said, it depends on what you're pushing the music to. Audiophiles will tell you that the sound from a dedicated card is much better, and it is. The only issue is that with cheap peripherals you can't really tell the difference. If you are investing in really nice peripherals: Headphones and Speakers, then I would go with the dedicated card. If you are using lower-midgrade peripherals, use the onboard because you probably won't be able to tell the difference.

I like one feature with Creative Lab called "What You Hear" Does the on-board chip is able to do that?
