Lenovo G700 vs ASUS F75VC

Thread Starter
I´m looking to buy my mom a laptop for her birthday. I know she wants a large screen so 17.3 is a must.

I´ve found these two Lenovo G700 or ASUS F75VC. They both have the same CPU, HDD, batteries and screen size.
The Lenovo got 8Gigs of RAM while the ASUS got 6GB. But the big difference is in the GPU the Lenovo got a GT 730M while the ASUS got a GT 720M.

So clearly I should choose to get the Lenovo since it is stronger, correct?

How is the build quality in Lenovo? I know how ASUS is since, I have a laptop from them myself.
I mean is the keyboard squaky, flexible, screen flexible, hinges etc. how is the cooling and such.

Help much appreciated, Thanks

Lenovo build quality is phenomenal as far as laptops go. Asus is pretty good too. But... I'd have to go with the Lenovo in this case. Specs are better and it'll be able to do more. The GT 730M is the same thing as the 640M. So performance isn't lacking in that regard. thumb.gif

Definitely the lenovo. Asus is nice and all, but lenovo is better, plus it has better specs too, so win win.

My friend just got a Y510P and I find the build quality to be average. We opened the laptop to change the thermal compound and it's 100% plastic inside. It was also a real PITA to access the CPU and the GPU.

The customer support is good though. He had to RMA and the whole process took about 2 weeks. He ended up getting another faulty one and lenovo replaced it with a brand new machine this time.
