Melted Motherboard w/ Picture

Thread Starter
Hello, I have an intel i7 965 CPU on a ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard. Everything working fine, but I recently opened it up to install a new fan to give me a little bit more cooling for my video card and I noticed a small area in the bottom right hand corner of the board right above where all the front panel header stuff plugs in that looks well kind of melted. I was hoping I could get some opinions on what is going on here, and if my board is about to fry, and if I just abandon ship before it does to save my other components. Here is the pics:

The only thing that I can think of personally is the power supply: what's the make and model of yours?

Something got in or moisture got in and plus some heat and there we go.

Would go to the extent of cleaning it with an unused tooth brush with contact cleaner. If you have a digital multi meter lying around you can test the caps and trans to see if there are still functional and not busted.
