Vishera FX 8350 overclocked to 4.7 ghz good ?

Vishera FX 8350 overclocked to 4.7 ghz good ? I can't pass the limit I guess. I have noctua ND-D14 and Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5 . Is this overclock good ? with 1.488 voltage ?

and also what is the limit of cpu heat degree ? I dont need to use this cpu for more than 2-3 years. So I dont want to stay 60-70 . What if I got 4.9 ghz with 1.54 voltages at 78 degrees with prime 95 test %100 load ? too bad ? I get 69 degrees with 1.488 watt for 4.7 ghz with prime 95 test %100 load. but generally it stays within 50-60 degrees in games. so can we say 78 degrees too much with prime 95 test %100 load ? I want to run 4.9 ghz. If not too much wink.gif

Lower the temps. Hardware can fail any time. It's with all electronic devices.

Temps need to stay below 62celcius for it to be a viable overclock, as that is the max safe temp for the K10, piledriver, bulldozer, and steamroller architecture. Whether you want your chip to last a long time or not is irrelevant as each chip is made differently, even if they're from the same batch. If it's beyond it's safe thermal limits it could fail anytime between 5 seconds of use at that high, or 2 years of temps at that high.

The D14 is a hell of a cooler, and you shouldn't be getting those high of temps at a 700MH overclock. I got a 4.5GHz OC on my FX-8350 on stock cooling before I got after market stuff, and was still within acceptable temps. The Noctua D14 is WAY better than the tiny stock cooler they give you. I'd throw up a thread on the aircooling forum if I were you.

I dont think there is necessarily anything wrong with the cooler. These FX chips hit a voltage wall around 4.4'ish and you really need to crank it up. I was able to hit 4.3 on stock voltage but had to ramp up to 1.39 to get 4.4 to work. 4.7 is a very good overclock for a 8350. Is that stress tested? If youre not passing several hours of Prime95 or OCCT then you cant be sure if its actually a stable overclock.

An FX-8350 overclocked to 4.7Ghz is a good overclock.
