[Build Log] Seanimus341 - Page 24

HI seanimus,

how long are the individually PSU cables? 24pin cable was about 6 inches, right? How long should be the length of the GPU cables (6pin and 8 pin?)

24 pin is 10". The wire you cut at 10", the pins adds some to the length.
CPU is 20"
GPU I don't know at the moment. Will find out in the night.

Since your putting this much work into the cabling might I suggest sewing the cables together rather then clips? You could hide the stitches and I think if you did it right it would appear much cleaner then the clips ever could.
Yes on stitching. After I get all the cables down and when P clips for other cables in place, I can plan.

Mobo: 10", CPU:20", GPU:16"

Have to get these P Clips in place. Looks like 19" on CPU Cable would make it firm.....will know when P-Clips screwed in.
Have to make holes for that in Case.

Ordered the EndLighten 0.394" which is almost 10mm which is the width of RGB/White SMD 5050.
Going to use hot glue gun instead of building a frame and see how that works out.

6" x 6" -- 2 layers.
Separated by 2" Round Standoffs from Digikey .

To connect the standoffs with acrylic in between going to drill 6/32 hole in acrylic, with these set screws.

At the bottom the standoffs will sit in the 120MM hole cut out that is already there in the S5 case. And I will reuse the holes for 120 mm Fan.
Here's an older picture of bottom of S5 Case with the 120MM fan cut out:

Well at least that is the plan...lets see how it works out.

GPU 16" fits nicely. Have to do remaining 4+4 wires in white.

Thanks. The hdd has white 3M as well..
Thought about himuro casing like LongRoadTrip did in his build...but that would only fit 1 hdd in that space?

If you ever get this pump and want to paint it...wet sand it first even if it is Krylon Fusion for Plastic.
Took a long time to get the white paint out by sanding it, and redoing it as matte black.
The white did not go well...
The red on the back, worked well in terms of painting it.. smooth surface.

IMG_2501

Can see a little bit of the earlier white paint creeping through the plastic...bah..so annoyed with this job.
But other than that matte Krylon Fusion Black works well with this plastic.
IMG_2499

This sata 12" is not working out so well...the bends are too many for such a short distance
IMG_2508

Thinking of just doing a hole here...and then having any number of SATA cables come through this hole. Reason is if you bend on PSU side it will interfere with the cables there and look crowded.
IMG_2519

Other cutouts/drilling..
Two here for the P-Clips:
IMG_2506

SATA Power for SSD:
IMG_2518

Assuming the fan mount below was the acrylic and IN and OUT for the radiator is approximately there:
IMG_2507

The bottom would be something like this.
Out from radiator to flow, to T..with perpendicular out going straight to the acrylic on top case.
The straight out from T to drain.
IMG_2516

Readjusting a the IN/OUT to radiator on "make believe" acrylic is approximately here.
IMG_2522

Also just went with AQ RGB Illumination module on the reservoir and will skip the Jeak RGB Amp for regular RGB's.
So the acrylic pieces will have white SMD 5050.

AquaSuite 2013-3 is out for download.
When you upgrade, you will also upgrade each AQ devices Firmware to latest version.
When you do AQ5 upgrade you will lose your Curve Controller setting, which is easy to add back.
But if you haven't done it for long time, its Curve Controller, Add new section, add reference virtual/software temperature, and add fan outputs on the right.
Some people reported losing their slave drive...but I don't use master slave configuration and its two independent loops on STH10 build. Hmm why am I posting in this thread..lol; should do it my other thread.

Aquaero 6 should be shipping to vendors soon. So may be another week for Aquatuning to ship out..

If you save your settings "Profile" to a separate folder to the Aquasuite default folder before you update any firmwares, you can quite simple just import all your old settings in one hit!!.. No need to redo everything, although you will need to redo any personal Naming you did on the Menu Tabs smile.gif

Build is Looking very very Nice by the way Seanimus thumb.gif.. Great Job...

Pascal from Aquatuning mentioned to me that I should have the remainder of my orders, which includes 2 aquaero 6xts, around the 15th although most indications are that they'll ship that day. Not sure when the exact timeframe is for them. I'm just going to start my build now so I can figure out what fittings I need and hopefully I'll have everything before the end of the month to finish things up. Your build looks great so far.
