[Build Log] TJ07 Mod. First mod. Custom WC with acrylic tubes! - Page 5

Need to send all my silver off to the powder coaters which I haven't sorted out yet, was meant to try and get some deal with one of my dads friends. After that I'll try sort my white acrylic midplate and see how I can illuminate it best, my build is sort of taking some ideas from all sorts of TJ07's like FakeBloods amazing build. And hopefully in the holidays I can do a weeks work or something and get either WC parts sorted or get a Z87-OC and 4670K, both will cost about the same. I really want a new GFX card like a 680 since there are some amazing deals on some on trademe but thats going to have to wait till I sort the priorities.

Edit: just to add, do you have any rubber grommets that I could maybe buy off you that would fit my cable through holes, its just my cuts were a little messier than yours and have spent all day trying to find some but the only ones available are some overpriced corsair ones that will cost too much to be worth shipping.

Scuff marks be damned, I gotta agree: That window looks much nicer than the stock one! thumb.gif

Little update, slow and steady smile.gif.
Powdercoated parts back! very happy with finish and it was all done in one day, only dropped it off yesterday.

Put it back together, not putting the 5.25" sides back yet still need to get in there.

Brain farting tongue.gif, forgot to give this piece to the powder coaters. luckily I wont be using it.

Something else: I need a better name for my log, didn't really have any ideas when making it, so if anyone could help out that would be great.
Theme will most likely be orange/black/grey/white (not to be a fakeblood copy).

The powder coating looks great, what a difference over the silver. Imo, the pci-e slot covers look fine, at least they're black now!

Another update:
Decided to tick off two parts, GA-Z87X-OC mobo and the 4670k as well as getting a new desk. I honestly didn't think these three things could cause so much trouble and two days of work tongue.gif. sorry for some of the flash photography but I had really bad lighting and a little camera. I
the mobo and cpu.

very nice motherboard, this is what i'm trying to base the theme around.

It feels criminal to put a stock cooler on these two parts.

Stripped the old thermaltake armor, the heavy beast weighs more than the TJ07 with parts in.

After all this I go to start up my pc and windows won't load. I was really worried I had dud parts or done some damage but luckily I had ubuntu on hand to rule that out. I finally got a BSOD telling me the drive was inaccessible so I had to set up my ghetto test bench just to test the HDD.

Booted fine, so I thought it was probably a error with conflicting drivers or something. After about four hours of turning off and on, cds and usbs in and out, formatting, booting ubuntu, I finally am able to re-install windows and here I am. The biggest hassle I've ever had with upgrades, but anyway I should soon be on track for the rest of the build.
quick setup in the mean time

Good job on the purchases! Love a orange build! Following in fakebloods footsteps tongue.gif
Agreed I like the original covers. How much did that powder coating set your back and wherd you get it done?

Got mine done by a place called colourfix in Onehunga, was only $65 which was great considering that it took only 12 hours and was really close. And yeah, I really liked fakebloods colour scheme as with the colours of his other builds, but I will try to leave my on mark on this build tongue.gif

If your using mayhem orange, make sure you flush your system well. Mine turned brownish after 2 weeks frown.gif
