Is this tablet even worth thinking about?

This is for a 5 year old, who is a bit rough on tablets, hence the low price. This is not a long term, for a teenager or adult device. It will be 100% for things like games(cut the rope, angry birds all versions, temple run, candy crush), maybe slight use of netflix or youtube, and thats it. The android 2.0 is what I am concerned with, if it will play the things above???

None of the apps you listed aren't compatible with Android 2.0, and it's low power would barely )if at all) handle the games at a playable framerate, so personally I think it isn't worth the purchase

If you're looking for a cheap decent android tablet, check Big Lots periodically, seriously. I picked this one up last year for $60 around Black Friday and it's been a solid little tablet for basic browsing and lite games:

I barely have $40 to spare, so double the price ones just won't work. I guess I am going to wait for a while to pick one up for Chris.

there are 4.3" "tablet" devices on newegg for $40, it just begins to get a little sketchy when you get the bigger screens without spending just a little extra. they have to cut corners somewhere, and its usually the battery or OS or screen.
