Another Failed RMA From Asus

Thread Starter
So I want to tell you that Asus RMA Department is still failing in the USA. This is the 6th RMA I have done and the mobo is still not running right again. The PCI-E slot 1 is running at PCI-E 2.0 x 4 and once again Asus Techs is failing to check it. So time for 7th RMA and hoping to get a new mobo out of this.

Darn shame on Asus. Since couple of years ago I refuse to install their MBs just because of them slipping in QC and service department. Switched mostly to Giagabyte, installed tens of their MBs and never looked back with only one RMA on a slightly used MB but still under warranty. In a GPU department they are still tops, different factory I guess.

What motherboard?

I'm on my 3rd RMA on my sabertooth 990fx.
My 1st slot was running at 2.0 x8 and the other pcie slots did not work.
I understand your frustration. Call them and let them know your thoughts.
This with be my last Asus mobo

Yeah I remember us talking about that board yesterday. It was extra weird now that I think about it. I mean you were overclocking a sempron 140.... nothing that should have blown a crappy motherboard, let alone one that is supposed to be good.

That Mobo was an MSI Mobo. The sabertooth didn't even get a chance to play. I will be posting my Asus experience here sometime this week too.

6 RMA on a Sabertooth Version 1.01 and this next one will be the 7th.

EDIT
Here is a break down on all 6 RMA.
This restarted in Dec of 2012.
1) PCI-E went out. Asus says it is working fine.
2) PCI-E went out again. I found out it only happens went I oc my CPU. Asus says it is working fine.
3) Thermal Paste in the socket will not boot. Asus replace this mobo.
4) PCI-E was running at PCI-E 1.1 x8. Asus replace the mobo.
5) PCI-E was running at PCI- 2.0 x8. Asus OCing team members check it out. They tested it and replace the mobo that is running at PCI-E x16.
6) 2 month later the mobo is not seeing a cpu. Tried 3 different CPUs (955/1090T/8320). Asus replace the mobo.
7) Now the PCI-E is running at PCI-E 2.0 x 4.

Wow, man that sucks. Tell them to give you an upgrade. Or get your money back

I had this too

4) PCI-E was running at PCI-E 1.1 x8. Asus replace the mobo.
5) PCI-E was running at PCI- 2.0 x8.

Same thing as mine.

I haven't had to deal with their RMA service, but that is unacceptable. They should upgrade you or fully refund you. This is why I am scared to buy ASUS motherboards. Was going to get the Hero but won't bother now. You'd think that after the 3rd time they would figure it out, apparently not.
