What CPU+Mobo combo?

Thread Starter
Hey everyone. I'm looking to upgrade from my i5-650 + Gigabyte P55A-UD3, since AMD is within my budget, but I have been out of the loop for a while. I was looking at the AMD FX 8320, but I don't know much about it.

What will I use it for:
  • Gaming
  • Streaming Games
  • Listening to Music
  • Watching Movies/Online streaming
  • Small Video editing

Budget: $250-$300.

Thanks!

Your'e streaming live as in you're playing and streaming? What games?

Video editing... unfortunately you don't live near a microcenter. If you can utilize the cores which it seems you would be doing particularly well with video editing and live streaming whilst playing the 8320 isn't a shabby choice. I'd say arguably better than an i5-3570k which I have... for what you do. I have a friend who streams so I got him the 8320 as opposed to a 3570k which I would've done if he didn't.

This could be a thing. ASRock used to be good in my book until I realized how often they used doublers and poor quality mosfets. This one checks out solid but I'd still be of the mind to get the 8320 and a 970a-ud3 which i've owned, it's a single GPU board (x4 second slot) with an 8+2 phase at a very budget friendly cost of $100.

Save $ on the motherboard, get the 970a-ud3 and you have some cash for a really nice heatsink to overclock with tons of headroom smile.gif
