How can I check that I'm playing 7.1 DTS correctly?

Hey guys, I sort of need help and I was hoping some can help me out here.
I'm trying to play a video that has 7.1 DTS

Here's what I have for my setup:

Astro Mixamp
Asus Xonar DX
Astro A40 Headset

Now, the Mixamp is able to decode DTS and with the Xonar DX I have Dolby Digital Live and Dolby Pro-Logic IIx

I have the Mixamp connected to the card VIA TOSLINK

So I should be able to play 7.1 with DTS

I'm using MPC-HC to play the video also.

How can I check to make sure I am indeed playing 7.1 with DTS when the video is playing?

Thanks guys!
Pho

Right click whatever video is playing, go to audio>options then look at how many audio channels are being used in the bottom box. The media will need to support at least 5.1 playback for it to work correctly.
