Best fan controllers

Hi guys,

I'm searching for a good, reliable fan controller which should include following features,

-Simple design (no LCD display, knobs instead of sliders)
-6 or 5 channels
-Capable of turning the fan off completely
-Solid build quality
-Decently above the Wattage per channel requirement
-Should fit into Corsair Vengeance C70 5.25 drive bay

I want to control 6 fans including,

-2 x 140mm Cougar Vortex HDB (two fans)
-4 x 120mm Corsair SP120 High Performance (four fans)

I have been searching for a good fan controller for some time now and believe Scythe, ZALMAN, Lamptron and Sunbeamtech ones are quite good. But Sunbeamtech ones are very difficult to find and Lamptrons are overpriced. redface.gif

Here are the fan controllers I have found,

http://www.zalman.co.kr/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=376
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scythe-Kaze-Master-Pro-5-25-6-Chl-Controller-KM03-BK-/321167181984?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item4ac70e48a0

(I'm OK with the Scythe display)

Please suggest me a good fan controller. The ones I mentioned will guide you to the type of fan controller I like. biggrin.gif

Pretty much anything Lamptron makes is golden.

Hi,

Thanks for the recommendation. But it is very difficult to find Lamptron products in my country and in online shopping sites it is very expensive. The Lamptron FC2 is the ideal product but I can't afford it right now. redface.gif

Can anyone recommend the following products;

Akasa FC Six
http://www.akasa.com.tw/update.php?tpl=product/product.detail.tpl&no=181&type=Accessories&type_sub=Function%20panel&model=AK-FC-08BKV2

ZALMAN ZM-MFC1 Plus
http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=208

Akasa FC Six can completely turn off the fan. But I want to know turning the fan off completely through the controller is OK (I didn't noticed any heat sink in Akasa). And I want to know if the brand is reliable.

ZALMAN ZM-MFC1 Plus can't turn off the fans completely and it has only 7watts per channel. But the product seems to be a solid build and brand is well known.

Please advice me smile.gif

Check this one out. It has a very simple design, very powerful, and inexpensive.

Hi,

Well its a good fan controller. But I don't like sliders. The knob design looks good. Finally after a long time in internet I decided to go with a Lamptron FC4 or Sunbeamtech. I'm going to order it in mid next month so I have some more time to make the final decision. Thanks for all helping me to decide a good fan controller. thumb.gif
