I hate that I attempt to overclock my phenom II 960T blackedition even with both motherboard and cpu at under 10c. I still couldnt achive 4.5 ghz stable W.T.F i only can get 4.3 on this chip why oh why., I tried so many voltages even the highest it will go which is 1.9volts still wrong, screw whoever got this cpu past 4.5ghz, I have good motherboard msi 990fxa gd65, and enough psu wattage antac 620watts, I hate my chip, I hate my life why I had to get bad one screw u newegg
also I can only unlock this chip to 5cores which explains that my cpu sucks.
please any advice?

silicon lottery. 4.5 on quad or hex is mainly for benching for my chip. sorry. the thing is, I only really need 4GHz (hex/quad) for everyday use mainly gaming. paired with a 7970 or 7950, the only time I need the extra cores is in BF3 MP 64. I can even max BF3 with quad but the 2 extra cores really help. other games run fine using 4GHz quad - even C3.

edit: unless you have not read . . .

Also, 4.3Ghz is a great chip. You really won't notice any difference beyond 4.0-4.2 or so. I'd advise you against setting your voltage anything beyond 1.55v to be safe. Deneb is known to have a heat/voltage wall after your chip's tolerances. It looks like this is the most you will get out of it. Please keep in mind 100-200mhz is completely negligible, and you aren't missing out on anything, nor would you notice a difference in performance. It might help to adjust your CPU/NB to around 2600mhz with a voltage of 1.2-1.25, in addition to raising your HT Link to about 2400. You might need to go 1.3 at most. CPU/NB voltage will add a considerable amount of heat to your board too, so don't go overboard. Hopefully this will give the IMC enough headroom. Try again and let us know. Also, experiment with your Multiplier and HTT clock. You have to find the sweet spot.

if your Ln2 and it's not going good the die might be cracked under IHS

guys forget about this thread its stupid I was just experimenting I didn't even had liquid nitrogen sorry i lied But I Did try to overclock my pc by putting it in a fridgedire freezer, Lol the reason i said liquid nitrogen cause I thought it would sound stupid if i said freezer, anyways i got 0c for cores and motherboard and about 10 for cpu and I really thought i was getting somewhere i just wanted to see how far this cpu will go, i had so much trouble with this chip overclocking and i can see now that its not capable, wouldn't even make a difference if i had liquid nitrogen would it?, still wouldn't be able to overclock am dead sure of it that its not capable cause if it was i would have achieve something with the freezer experiment so forth with my graphics card yea i try to overclock my gpu too in the freezer but dont worry nothing went wrong everything was in the case a course, i was getting 0c on gpu too, i set it to 1225volts highest it will go, set gpu core to 1400mhz and gpu memory to 1500mhz with the board power limit at 20, dang even with all that i still got a bluescreen And here i thought that cold temps will help you overclock, which is why i get bluescreens is cause my cpu gets hot sometimes depending on room temps, even trough i have 4fans in my system.

it may sound crazy the freezer thing and all , i don't know if am the only person who done this which am pretty sure am not, but at least i know am smart and tried to attempt something even trough my cpu ain't and good overclocker 1 bit am just stuck at 4.3ghz for the rest of my life on this chip 4.3 don't cut it i needed at least 4.5 for dolphin emulator, besides am pretty sure am the only few or maybe 1 person in Lumberton north Carolina with a good fast PC like this with windows boot time of 30 seconds. I've been trough a lot in my life been took out of school at 5th grade by doctors for extreme headaches or migraines for other word, and been home bound eversense not am back started back at school at 9 grade and now am in 12th, also am taking computer engineering at the career center. and I don't plan on being one of those people who knows nothing i know am good with computers am the only one in my family who smart with electronics. its even been said to me.

and i did disable all cores except 1 and 2 I've been tried that scenario and made no difference still got bluescreen

So... you're a noob that doesn't understand why you cant push a quad-core to 4.5ghz? I'm confused... anything beyond 4.2 for a C3 stepping chip is awesome. Don't know why you're flipping out but okay.

And please don't go off about your life story, that's nice but we really don't care. Has no meaning in this thread.

Wow, you're getting a 1.3Ghz OC on your chip from stock and you're complaining? I thought getting my 1090T to 4Ghz was already an achievement
