Sadly, no that isn't necessarily true. The card just isn't really being stressed, different things will stress the card to different degrees. Think of it like CPU overclocking, many people would overclock to say 4.5GHz and NEVER have any problems gaming etc but when they ran Prime95, they would get a bunch of errors. It is effectively the same for your GPU, If I were you I would get your system all nice and setup, make sure its being properly cooled and cleaned of dust then check your GPU's stability at the STOCK settings. If you have no issues running furmark at the stock settings (assuming you keep it properly cooled you can manually set the fan speed to 100% during the test if you wish) then its safe to say your card is not damaged.
