Crucial memory overclocking?

Thread Starter
I am looking to get myself some ram for my new build. I found some Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB 1866 that looks good for the price with the current discount on them through newegg.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148740

I wanted the Crucial Ballistix Elite sticks since they are all black. But, these sticks have the same timings and the yellow can still go with the green on the Sniper M5 that I have bought.
Overall I want to know if anyone has had good luck overclocking these sticks to 2133 or even 2400 with decent timings?

Any info on these sticks is appreciated.

Are those sticks Ballistix Tactical? Which Crucial sticks are they exactly?
Also, were all of those speeds and settings at 1.5v? If not what were the voltages you used to get those speeds and timings?

Btw, thanks for replying, the results you have are interesting to me.

I have "Crucial DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz Ballistix Tactical CL8 1.5v" with product code "BLT2CP4G3D1608DT1TX0CEU". 1600 and 1866 was on 1.5 v. To get 2000 and 2133 I raised my voltage to 1.58 becouse of bsods. Maybe i Overvolted it IDK.

But anyway - going from 1600 and CL8 to 2133 and CL9 on 0.5 higher voltage is just awesome. I propably can go higher, and I check that when I stabilize my CPU OC.

I have two of the Crucial Ballistix Tactical BLT4G3D1608DT1TX0 (1600 MHz, 8-8--8-24, 1.5v) and they OC nicely. They go hand in hand with my WonderRAM, and so far i've gotten them to get up to 2133 MHz 10-10-10-27 @ 1.55v, haven't dared to try anything higher though, but due to lack of time and not because of heat. They look nice as well, the yellow isn't as bright, so it could look good on your build. Plus, if worse comes to worst, the yellow strip can be removed from the heatsink, as it is plastic glues on the metal.

I ordered my kit last night. I know this is not the fastest ram out of the box but I could not find many bad views on it. Since it had that discount code and was a good price for 16gig's of ram $130. I am fairly excited this time around about the ram I am buying.

Newegg is actually sold out now when I checked it today. If I can get them to 2133 I will be happy. I will be very happy if they do 9 cas at 2133.

I still need to purchase another gtx 780 and some ssd's for my rig before I start my build but once I get to overclocking this ram I will update this thread on how far I get with it.
