Wouldnt you need to go Ivy to get PCIe 3.0? Thats another CPU upgrade. Dont think its worth it if you already have a 2500k though.

You dont need 3.0 you can run a 3.0 card on 2.0 and it will be 5% slower if its even that much

you don't need an i7 or a new power supply. the gpu is a smart move (unless you wanna wait for the new series to come out) but besides that the only other thing you'd benefit from upgrading is your gaming resolution. it might be best to wait a month or two. if anything, you'll have solid info on new cards and the 7970 will be even cheaper.
