Yeah, its quite taxing, but consider what is actually happening regarding rendering of volumetric fog, hbao (ambient occlusion) and god knows what kind of post processing effects. Personally, like stated, I like medium for now. High is ok, but the highest is also out of my league despite my SLI'ed 770's. Guess that comes down to ram limitations (2 gb), at least partly. Even on high, both of my 770's are taxed at like 98% at any point, so this is probably one of the most demanding renderings I've ever encountered (and I'm reaching 90c after some while even on medium settings. ouch).
According to this site
even one 770 outperforms a 770m quite a bit, so yeah, its not in the best of shapes for running SC at this point. Rest assured that there will be many customization options later on, and that you probably will be able to scale the game properly later when optimizations and options are in place.
Regarding the 300i. You didnt get an upgrade, but the 325a as a complete product, right? In that case I've not heard of this problem either, and guess there must be some good reason for this happening. Whats in your hangar (on the RSI site) at this point?
For the sake of thoroughness, the GTX 78
0m is a downclocked GTX 680 with a Boost 2.0 BIOS. There are lots of folks with GTX 680s and 770s (same board, 700 series having a better BIOS, slightly better average clocks, and slightly better mem) who can tell you what to expect out of a single 680 / 770, and consequently a 780m. A GTX 77
0m is simply a beefed up GK106: performance falls somewhere between a 675mx and 680m. By way of comparison, the 770m has 5 SMX units and 960 CUDA cores vs a 780m's 8 SMX units and 1536 CUDA cores. The 770m clock speed starts higher than the 780m, but I believe
they boost to about the same. 770 has a 192-bit bus at 4000MHz vs a 780's 256-bit at 5000MHz.
In benchmarks, we're talking about a pretty consistent 20% performance increase when stepping from a 770m to a 780m. God help us when we finally see a proper GK110 mobile GPU...

Yup. That's this guy.gtarmanrob
, expect a PM shortly. I've had some... hangar expansions.
