This. Also I highly recommend, for people requiring info, to look at the previous episodes of wingman's hanger.

Also I cannot wait for alpha. I want to find me some fun bugs. biggrin.gif

Most people also joined their friends first and will join OCN second.

Edit- I really should multi quote up but... :/

NAUGHTY Bob ... yes you should!

Still, I have no friends biggrin.gif Seriously though, since moving in with my better half I've hardly done any online gaming outside of WoW to keep her happy. Even had to give up EvE this year after nigh on 11 years on it. Still, I'm looking to changing all that this/next year with Star citizen.

I'm wanting to deck out my rig, get multi-monitor and grab a flight-stick! It'll all have to wait till the end of the year though redface.gif

There is awesome work going on over at RSI and slowly going over all the threads / vids / pages is taking some time. I'm intrested in what they'll do with the Avatars, recreate Firefly! Or maybe get a corvette and go Battlestar Galactica ? biggrin.gif

I do look forwards to joining everyone on there, especially since I don't really know many people on here dispite my many years around and giving out Freebies on the forums. thumb.gif

Yeah, I feel yah. I've recently married; my wife has really been easy on me with my gaming habits (as long as I help with house keeping) tongue.gif which is amazing. I'm looking for something that won't take up so much time, but this game is just too perfect for me. I love exploring, can't get enough of flight simulators/ piloting neat vehicles, I really like RPGs and MMOs, and I like not being ripped off by devs and distributers rolleyes.gif

I also don't have many friends on OCN that want to play SC. I mostly hang out in the BF and Titanfall threads, but this game will be a nice change biggrin.gif

I'll look into Foundation, but as of now, I really don't have anywhere else to go but OCN's org. I'll keep looking for more casual orgs in the mean-time.

EDIT: How much do you think the game will be optimized for lower horsepower hardware? I was playing around in the hangar with highest settings with my sig rig and my GPU was really working hard! Got a little choppy even and hit > 70C!

Optimisation is an ongoing battl. Take Planetside 2. It's only with relatively recent patches I was able to hit over 60 fps. There was a point in that game where I was playing with 20-30 and really happy with 30.

So I really, really doubt low end will be healthy in alpha. Ok in beta and getting better after release.

Hmm... I'm not expecting too much from optimization within the year, but I hope that I can play the game smooth enough on my current setup without having to sacrifice too much of the eye candy.

yeh i don't mind the mystery object vote. thing is, i can see it being a stupid pair of flip flops to go with the new towel or something. seriously - who cares about that stupid towel? i'm a partial nerd myself i'll admit (i'm a pc gamer. i must be, right?). but i have to call total nerds on that one lol... and the only guys i can see voting for extra hangar rooms are the subscribers and ones who've thrown tonnes of money at the game. which is surely the minority of players!? i reckon their votes have more power!! rolleyes.gif

sorry mate. i'm confused by what you said. probably because i'm stupid lol.. but are you saying that engine tuning is already in the game??

Updated Scanner Software - 20%

The tuning kit could be the edge we need to boost those engines/thrusters with a higher margin of safety. But it looks like we're gonna get it on the next vote cycle... :/

yeh man we'll get it eventually lol. although, i don't know how much further this funding will go with the limited slots left. won't people just be paying five dollars or whatever to get into the modules after that? or do they still need a pledge package for that?

Yes. The player controlled side of "crafting" is a ship component overclocking market. I'm not actually sure what the point of the tuning kit is, but I keep voting for it anyways. All of these stretch goals will end up in the game @ some point, we are just voting (i think) the order of importance.

The DFM actually has quite a bit of optimizations, and Cryengine has quite a bit baked in from the factory. One of the PAX systems had a 660Ti in it, but Ben did note that (obviously) the more stuff in the module the harder that little card is going to work. A mid/low range card should be fine for DFM V1. The rest of the systems had 690s.

After watching the latest video, all I can ask is "why?"
Why all the hype?
Why people keep dropping money on that project?
Where did those 40mil go?
Why people were "wowing" during the press demo?

This has got to be the most overhyped publicly-funded game in the history of "kick-starter" era, and so far all I've seen is a cool helmet flip animation, indestructible average-looking space-ship, some pew-pew. Honestly it wasn't all that impressive and considering that during press-conferences devs. tend to show the most shiny, polished and overal best portion of the product that they have at the current moment, this is not impressive, not impressive at all. Show us explortaion? Nope, never heard of it, show us different planets? nope, never heard of it, but hey, let's see cryengine tech demo number 123123125.
