actually, I feel like iv'e already told you this, guess i'm just excited. Now i just need to get the conversion kit for my VKB.

Yep, I think you mentioned it. Sounds like a good plan - if my other one wasn't in pieces and in another state smile.gif I'd think about doing the same.

nah they outsourced it to redacted, redacted being illphonic studio in colorado, who stole the nexuiz website from open source community by paying a guy who had the website on his name, yet left a year after nexuiz project was created ...

they are righteously named, ILL PHONIES tongue.gif

PS: cig got some tax money apparently from colorado too

EDIT: anyone managed to get DSR working in Star Citizen? i used 1.2 factor for my 1440p, but the max resolution in game i can see is not the 3860x2160 but one much lower ...
thanks

What I hate is when you move side to side, the screen kinda "bumps" back a little every time. Fine for the hangar, but in any real combat that would instantly kill me as it causes me to mis-calculate the aim.

Mouse acc./smoothing is just stupid, and I never understood why they made it in the first place for anything. First thing I turn off in both Windows and games.

While PS2 and CoD are good in their respective genres, but please for the love of God never bring it in to SC... Seriously I might even give up on SC then lol.

I'm not looking much at the current build, because the 1st person in the hangar is obviously a placeholder nobody thought is worth tweaking at this point, but having experience with "developers" and their frequent display of the seeming inability to comprehend what is actually right for a fulfilling 1st person experience, I have not so much doubt that we will see the first version fulfilling the premise of what I sarcastically nickname "developer half wit".

You have a guy there, coding the stuff, having the position, but lacking the enthusiasm of a gamer to understand what is truly important for a smooth 1st person experience, on PC that is. It takes lots of community feedback-grinding and few months and several version for the guy to finaly remove few digits from the code and by that improve the experience by a lot. I've seen it too often.

The guy does something, play tests it and realizes he kind of sucks at it, thinks he's just a coder and simply not good enough a gamer and obviously doesn't need to be, perhaps not knowing that a better implementation of the "features" would improve his performance (and anyone else's). If you want to do something good, you should always have a bit of enthusiasm for what you are doing, because enthusiasm equals awareness.

But who knows, maybe I'm totally wrong this time.

Sounds like a very real possibility but I expect one of many weak links in a chain.

.

Mouse acceleration was cool during the Quake era when everyone used rocket launchers and had a roller ball mouse because you didn't have to lift it up to adjust when turning around due to you hitting the end of the mouse pad.

Could be wrong, but I think the bobbing is because they hadn't programmed a hip muscle, so the character had to bob forward, and it should be fixed in 1.0.
