That is correct. If you want to keep your package, upgrade your Aurora LN to the ship you want, Do Not melt it.

If you melt it, the game package will be gone, and you'll have to pay extra to get the squadron 42 package whatever you do. Hope I told you in time!

EDIT

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ship-upgrades

There's the link for upgrading your LN, if you end up wanting to.

You did lol

Looks like I'm just going to keep it for now. Not worth reburying anything atm. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, it's anything but clear how melting and packages in general work. I was so confused when I started out, took a lot of time and reading to understand how it all works. They really should put some focus on simplifying the process, at the very least in time for the release of Squadron 42 [sometime later this year].

If it's choppy and you're using SLI, try just using one or two cards, see how it goes. You'll always get better frames in Arena Commander vs the Universe.
I'll try again as soon as I can stop folding on the system.

The worst performance is actually on the stations and not in space where it counts, so that isn't too bad.

I still have trouble aiming and orienting with the ship, though, especially with the mouse lag...

I'm really shocked about the poor performance of the game... I hope they will optimize it, or is the current CryEngine really that demanding? 1080p at medium still can't give me 50fps in most scenes. And that mouse lag in the Hangar...

its the custom back end thats still partially cryengine backend. However, from a rendering standpoint, the game runs like a glorious unicorn when you play in offline mode. All the necking is typically network/CPU overhead. but i would also 100% get away from tri-sli, or even dual-sli at the moment.

That's the plan. I'm waiting for the first Pascal benchmarks to come in.

I guess that overhead is typical for an "MMO", if you want to call this one. I'm having performance issues with The Elder Scrolls Online too, although the game doesn't max out the CPU or the GPU's, and the network should be fast enough as well.

haha, I just meant in SC, not in general!

ok, i'll restate

DEFINITELY get away from tri-sli in general.

definitely step away from any sli in SC for awhile.

I won't go past dual-sli until we have actual proof of "next gen API" being worth a damn/developers making use of it to further improve multi-card performance... whereas right now we have to wait 6-12 months to get decent dual card support, and rarely ever get even half way bad tri-sli support. I don't really epeen wag. I play games, and I prefer for those games to ACTUALLY run smooth, over inflating my own ego.

i got tired of config tweaking EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Anyone else have this burned into their brain? "oh, it uses UE3... I bet I have to force triple buffering for a smooth exerpience!"

For my part I'm in a bit of a clinch: I'm waiting for the Pascal cards just as much as to see how Gameworks VR will handle devices like the Rift (which would really be sweet in SC), especially since nvidia has stated optimized "one eye per GPU" performance for SLI, but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

In an ideal world a dual GP100 setup with a Rift would be the way to go.

And for config tweaking: Let's not start talking about tweaks like ReShade for decent graphics and nvInspector for the according performance. I've probably spent more time tweaking single games than actually playing them lachen.gif

i accidentally melt my ship and package , but somehow i had 2 packages but that is not going to matter much for what i am going to say , it seems that you get 1 chance to buy back pledges , i was playing and someone kept killing me in a freelancer it was like shooting bb's at it with my hornet or i just suck , anyways i went and melted the hornet and by mistakes my pledge ship bought a freelancer and went and killed the guy but the next time i went to log in it said i needed a package and directed me to "my hanger" from there i went to "my pledges"and i was able to by back my original pledge with squad 42 so either they are giving an out for jackasses like me or i got damn lucky..

this... this this this this this.

The #1 point of contention between fellow tri-sli owners.

some of us aren't blind & see how it makes games run like garbage most of the time.
the other some of us are blind and or are more worried about forum epeen than actual in-game experience.

i'm currently on a 690 @ 1080P, and since i'm not really playing new titles @ release, I'm not having any issues. In fact, the 690 has reminded me of how buttery smooth SLI can actually be. It just seems like we gotta wait 3-6 months for actual support these days.

seems like modern support is "make gpu #2 look like its doing something, get rid of flickering & artifacts... OK BOOM ITS WORKING! PUSH THESE BITS TO THE PUBLIC!"
