It's not without cause, there is no precedent for this game, no one knows whether it will succeed or not for certain. They're giving it a damn good shot though, and along with a small part of the community that is just great to be a part of, that's enough for me.
Looks like PCGamer is happy
They're not even done yet....CitizenCon is in October where they'll be showing off some of the feature we saw today that are even more refined...and of course, Squadron 42 details.
It might be taking forever, but if CR and CIG can deliver on even 50% of what they've promised (and it's looking like they've been going above and beyond so far) then we're going to have one hell of a game....
PC gaming is in such a sad and sorry state when the hardware that most of us hardcore enthusiasts have far outstrips the requirements of 99.9% of all the games being developed for PC...so to see CIG taking their time and doing things 'right,' i'm all for it.
After all...the Kickstarter for Star Citizen may have started in mid-late 2012, but it took them just about the next 2 years to actually build up and staff a full company...so to make this much headway is actually rather impressive. I'm in this for the long haul.
