Thinking of 3 X 32" 1080p HDTV's for Eyefinity. Thoughts?

Hey guys.....I have a little different build in mind here. It's not so much for like FPS games and so forth....but a racing SimRig. Now days there are tons of 32" 1080p HDTV's out there , but I'm looking for some advice on something with really thin bezel's for overlapping , but also something with a descent refresh rate and so forth. And since most of these HDTV's come with only HDMI connections......would this be a viable option for me? Not sure if the DVI connections would be better? What should I look for?

I have a 27" Asus here.....and with the way this SimRig will be set up I'll be a little further away from the screen and need to go up in size. I'll be running two 7970 Dual-X cards in CFX , and with the racing sims that setup is actually overkill ( Again though....I will use it for FPS games every now and then too )

Any of you guys who have used some descent 32" HDTV's and been happy with them.....can you steer me in the right direction?

PS.....I'll be hitting Fry's electronics today to get some ideas.

I've never....EVER had a PC connected to an HDTV look correct. Theres always something wrong, like part of the screen being cut off or the colors being a bit off.

I wouldn't ever use one TV as a monitor, let alone three.

Also, I think you're going to have a hard time finding thin bezel TVs that aren't high in price.

I fully support that style biggrin.gif i'm currently looking for good and cheap 55'' hdtvs, but it's really hard to find the ones like that AND with thin bezels frown.gif Your biggest problem will be setting up eyefinity, because it requires at least 1 display port. you can go DVI to HDMI, and DVI to VGA. But DP to VGA/HDMI does not work, meaning you will need to find an HDTV with a DVI input. Your other option is to go nVidia, as it allows the use of all types of connections for surround. A friend of mine has 3 46'' 1080p Sony HDTVs in surround running off 780 SLI, all through VGA.

Really? I did not know that! So I " Do need " a DVI connection in that loop some where? I've never had a triple monitor / HDTV setup before , so this is all new to me. I guess I need to try and find some 32" TV's that have DVI inputs. My 54" 600mHz Panasonic plasma TV has it....and that's about 1.5yrs old....so I'm hoping to find some smaller HDTV's that will as well.

So if I can't find any that have DVI connections.....would VGA ports work?

These are the 7970's I have now ( actually one was RMA'd and is on it's way back to me ) >>> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202008

Connections :
1 x HDMI
1 x DisplayPort
2 x DVI (1 Single Link, 1 Dual Link)

With these cards........what would be the ideal HDTV connection I should be looking for? DVI or VGA? Or will either one work with Eyefinity?

the thing is that you have to use at least 1 display port for eyefinity. you can run 2 DVI to VGA outputs, or 1 DVI to VGA and 1 DVI to HDMI, or 1 HDMI and 1 VGA. But that is only 2 monitors. the 3rd monitor output HAS TO BE DISPLAY PORT.
