Radeon HD 7970 Crossfire issues

Hi, firstly I don't really come here very often, but I have encountered a problem and need some help.

Basically I have been using a gigabyte 7970 OC for a while now with no problems, but a few days ago I found a pretty good price on a second exact same card (brand new and in store). Despite not really needing the performance too much, I decided why not.... and bought the card. I havn't CFd before, and kind of wanted to.

Anyway, I installed the card, bridged the cards and everything seemed to be working fine initially. I reinstalled CCC, and saw that it picked up that the card was in and that I could enable crossfire, however when I did that, my overall FPS drops drastically on every game I play, as well as on every stress test. And when I open up furmark It does not show that the second card is detected. Also when I check GPU Shark, it too only shows information on one of the cards.

However when I go into device manager, It shows both cards are there, and when I open GPU-Z I see 2 cards are detected

however when going into the sensor tab, it shows for one card that there is 99% load, with the other being at 0%, just when I am idling while typing out this post

And when I actually run a stress test on furmark, it only shows 1 of the cards detected on the top, and temperatures for only one of the cards at the bottom. And like I said, I get significantly less FPS when CF is enabled.

Now, the part that I find weirder, is that when I go back to CCC and disabled crossfire, all of the software that I have tried all detects 2 cards. furmark, gpu shark, gpu-z all show that there are 2 cards detected

GPU-Z also shows both cards at 0% load when idle instead of one of the cards randomly being at 99% for no reason.

However when I run a stress test, as expected, only one of the cards is being stressed. All the software shows 100% load on 1 card and 0% on the other, as it should with crossfire disabled. But I have no clue as to why the cards are detected with CF disabledbut only one is when CF is enabled

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.
