Yeah it looks like the Browns are middle ground for both typing and gaming. While the Reds are more for gaming rather than typing...

Brown Switches
Good choice, those are pretty much rebranded Filcos.

If you touch type and can spend a little more take a look at the stealth version though, I've heard the standard uses a bubbly feeling key print that wears off.

I really like my Cherry Reds. They feel amazing. I've actually improved my typing skills over a rubber dome. To each his own, like I said before, it really is the preference of the person on what's best for you.

Wait. I just looked on CM's website and on theirs it looks like the CM Rapid keyboard is black keys and a grey bezel. But on Amazons site its all black. Which is it? I hate grey and would like it to be all 100% black...

Well the browns you will hear more of a clicking feedback, the red is more of a smooth but it has feedback where you know you've hit the keys. I've tested reds and blues and I personally like reds but i game a lot so i prefer smoothness tongue.gif

I would say that the CM Rapid, XT, or Stealth with either Browns or Greens is the perfect choice. The boards are extremely high quality, comparable to some twice the price or more, and they aren't tacky looking (ugly) like every other option save the Rosewill boards.

Browns are the perfect typing key for me, but I absolutely love the Greens for a mix of typing and gaming. They have a near instantaneous return time, making double or triple taps extremely easy and fast. The resistance is enough to make sure you don't accidentally hit the wrong buttons, but not so stiff as to be uncomfortable because unlike the blacks you won't be constantly bottoming out.

My vote is for the CM XT or Stealth w Greens/Browns. I highly doubt you will find anything even close for under 100...
