Try a different monitoring app and see what it says. I like HWiNFO64 for more complete real-time sensor readings. In my own P9X79 WS based system, the two apps show the same core temps.
So I just looked and it's around 70 F (21 C) upstairs and I'm in a cooler basement so I guess it could very well be around 65 F (18 C) down here. I was just thrown off because I figured the core had to be hotter than the socket. Perhaps though, the H80i is doing a really good job on the core, yet, the air in the case is much hotter hence the socket being around 37 C. It might make sense seeing as the H80i is acting as an intake, so the hotter air from the radiator that is taken out the CPU is being blown back into the case and over the block and socket....

I usually use RealTemphttp://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
RealTemp doesn't work with AMDs
