Looking for a New headset for X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro sound card

Hey,

I am looking to replace my Logitech G35 headset sinds its broken and used up.
Trying to find something thats equal or slightly better then my G35 and can connect to the sound card with a stereo jack or something.
I found Razer Tiamat 7.1 but it costs 160 euro's and thats just to much money, looking for a headset 100 euro's max.
Razer Tiamat 2.2 does cost 80 euro's but i really don't know if its worth the money, don't know what to look for and what frequenties are good or bad.

What headset do you use in combination with a sound card?
What headset do you think i should get?

Thanks biggrin.gif

After buying 5 different headphones/headsets, all I can say is that forget about surround headsets.

Personally I recommend these headphones:
HD668B + Velour pads
HD681Evo (out of stock atm, came bundled with free velour pads. I also own one of these)
HD660 + Velour pads

As for mic, maybe something like Samson Go Mic, Antlion Modmic or Zalman clip-on.

If you absolutely want a headset, maybe something like MMX2 or your usual Siberia V2. I own MMX2 and all I can say that I would never pay the full price of 60€ for one (paid 45€ postals included).

Heey,

Thanks for the reply.
I actually meant headphone, i'm using Samson Q1U as a microphone so a mic is not necessary.

Yea i have been reading some forums, allot of people prefer stereo headphones over 5.1/7.1 my previous headsets where all surround so i will give the stereo a shot smile.gif

I think that i have found a headset that i like but i wanto confirm if its a good choice or if there is a better one for the price.

Steelseries 7h fnatic edition
Headphone Response Bandwidth (Hz):
15 - 28000
Sound Output Mode
Stereo

When headphones state their response bandwith like the Steelseries does, it's the same as saying that sky is blue.

Personally I would never recommend headphones made by a company that makes mouses/keyboards/etc...
Again, the superlux probably sounds better for 1/3 of the price. You are paying for Steelseries brand+marketing. Both are made in China anyway...

From what I hear the Sennheiser HD-380 Pro are decent for the price (although I'm not a fan of the design that breaks easily). From what I see the Steelseries cost the same.

Yea ok you got a point.
Its just i dont really like the design of most of the Sennheiser but the HD-380 Pro doesnt look to bad,
hopefully i wont break it, they fall of my desk sometimes tongue.gif haha

Have seen a few reviews and they say its comfortable and the sound is amazing, never had Sennheiser so im curious tongue.gif

Thanks for the advice +rep smile.gif

Not sure about the 380 but at least HD595/598 have pretty bad design on the joint parts. They break in around 3 years from use, one local shop here had a pair for testing and even they were half-broken from the same joint-area.

When I looked a little closer the 380 joints have a different design so they should be good.

If you look closely the HD380 are almost identical to the PC350, i think they use the same drivers but sennheiser made some additional tweaks.

It should be good thumb.gif
