Probably just have to pull hard on it, I had the same deal with a similar AMD cooler a few months ago. The crappy thermal paste had just hardened into super glue pretty much.

No. You don't understand. just flicking the latch does nothing except giving you some space to pull the tabs. You need to pull the U shaped latch/thingy off of it. thats whats holding it down. Haven't you watched the video?
