Also, does any PSU fit or do I need to look out for specific ones?

Hi I'm from Belgium too and I do all my computer shopping in online shops in The Netherlands> Go to tweakers.net
You'll see the most popular GPUs as well as their cheapest prices. First task is to find out what exact PSU you have. I have a 400w PSU too and it runs a 3770k with 680 oc with ease. But that might not be the case with any 400watt.

I don't think it is worth to invest in the 2gb GK104s anymore if you are planning on keeping the card for long. Only exception would be the 760, Because it is not too expensive and solid bang for buck. But the 800 series you might be able to bay a 200 euro graphics card that doubles that performance. If you buy a 770 now, it is only 10-20% ahead of a 760. You see?

If you are leaning to AMD camp, which are solid for you with 3gb vram and 384bit-bus as opposed to 256bit bus on high end nvidia, you should wait it out till october for their new offerings. If you really can't hold it anymore till then I'd suggest the 760. The 7950 and 7970 are almost definitely going to give you problems with your PSU as they suck more power than the Nvidia equivalents.

Hope this helps but realy find out what exact PSU you have so we can help you better.

Thanks! I'll do that right away biggrin.gif

And I'd never buy anything cheap, I'm all about quality.
I'd rather pay big and have it last for years to come than rebuy stuff every 6 months

That is a stupid decission from value and performance perspective. As I said, a 200 euro card from nvidia 20nm 800 series might be equal to a 780, which costs 600 euro right now. And a 760 costs 230-250 right now but is only 40% slower than a 780 or so.

You will never be able to future proof and buying the best now and expecting it to last for years will only make you spend more money and you'll end up with less performance in a few years. Better buy 200 euro card every two years then buy a 600 euro card and go 6 years with it.

+1 on the GPU, although it is a small 760 more ideal for smaller systems so an MSI or gigabyte 760 would have given you better cooling but you'll be happy with the card. It only requires one 8pin connector from the PSU ;p

-2 on the PSU ;p The corsair builder series is crapped on all over OCN and is not really suited for gaming systems. You were better off buying a 500 watt decent PSU for the same price. Better efficiency in both idle and load. Buying bronze in this day and age...

I'd go for a 770GTX if you can afford it, I'd also look for a Seasonic PSU over that particular Corsair PSU.

I would get a different PSU. Like the Corsair TX/HX Series, or the Seasonic X.
