help on choosing z87 motherboard with both pci @ 16x due to 760sli

hello, i need your help on choosing a z87 motherboard for my new rig that can supports sli on 16x to both lanes...
all this time i was on amd mobo (sabertooth r2) which was supporting the 16x @ the two pci lanes.

i am thinking of buying the asus hero but as i can see @ the specs the pcie lanes plays @ 16x , 8x
am i wrong or misunderstood?

You don't need X16/X16. Z87 doesn't natively support it anyway. If you must have it X16/X16 is added with PLX chip. These boards are expensive: Asus Z87 WS, Maximus VI Extreme, Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5, OC-Force, MSI XPower or ASRock Z87 Extreme9 are your only choices.

Unlike AMD, Intel CPUs have PCI-E 3.0 revision which doubles the bandwidth. So X16/X16 2.0 = X8/X8 3.0.

so if i am going on buying the asus maximus hero is it the proper mobo ?
because i dont want to spend more than 200 euros on motherboard..
with pci e 3.0 16x-8x is it going to make my 760s underworking ?

No, PCIe3 x8 is just fine for your cards, as mentioned above the boards with x16 are using PLX which (AFAIK) do cause some delay also as they're not native. Don't waste $$ picking a board that has it - unless you're looking at going to X79 boards where it's native.

No. They would also run fine at X4 3.0.

Depending on what else you need, you can get other boards that are cheaper than Hero.

Thank You for your responses. I am thinking of 1150 and looking for the mobo which makes company To the 4770k. Although I am waiting To see the New 4820κ and see what is best for me.. I Just want To make this upgrade to my system and forget everything for a couple of years or more and enjoy it really.
