If you want XB1/PS4 to do what you just described as a PC, plug in a mouse/keyboard and go.

I can do that on my phone, doesn't make it a PC. And no.... there are no word processing programs on consoles. Consoles are consoles, they are not PC's. Phones are phones, they are not PC's. They may have similar functionality, but they are different devices.

The PC has not changed much from 20 years ago. It can do things better and faster. The way it's being used has changed. Phones ar a diifferent thing. Can't really compare a phone from 20 years ago with a phone now. They are not the same thing. Soon a phone will be something you compute with insted of a PC.

Why are they trying to turn it into a PC then. Netflix, Twitch? PC applications, far from dedicated console gaming apps hmm.

The only "advantage" the Xbox One and Playstation 4 have over current generation PC's is the fact that they use x86 hardware that's not currently available for a PC enthusiast to purchase. We cannot currently purchase 8 Core Jaguar based APU's w/ 32MB of eDRAM built into the graphics core. We cannot currently purchase any APU that takes advantage of HSA or hUMA technologies.

That being said, they are simply computers in a box.
